Photos, Scilly Isles, September 2005

These are some photographs from a BSAC 33 Bath subaqua club diving trip to the Scilly Isles in September 2005. We stayed on St. Martins island and dived with Tim Allsop on his boat named the Morvoren. The rowing pictures are of the weekly Scilly's gig racing event, in this case, the women's competition.

I took the pictures with a Canon Powershot s60 using the Canon WP-DC40 waterproof case. This was my first experience with using a digital camera underwater. Hitherto my only experience has been a couple of times with disposable underwater cameras which produce very poor results. For this trip, I mostly used the auto setting with flash and the flash diffuser. The focus is a bit hit and miss, suggesting that it might be worth using manual focus when the lighting is poor.
